The heart of the Almanzora Valley is alive this week as Albox celebrates its traditional fair through November 4. After last year’s edition was affected by storms, 2025 brings perfect autumn weather and renewed excitement among residents and visitors alike.

The fair opened on Friday, October 31 — coinciding with Halloween — blending seasonal buzz with Albox’s Andalusian character. Where many places focus on spooky nights, here the atmosphere is all about music, community spirit and vibrant fairground lights.

This year’s layout centres three main areas around a small plaza: the municipal tent (senior-friendly dance and activities), the brotherhoods’ tent (concerts and youth events), and a supervised children’s play zone so families can enjoy the fair safely and freely. Expect local gastronomy, crafts and live shows every day.

Friday, October 31 – Opening Day

Getting There & Parking

The Albox Fair takes place around the main fairgrounds near La Rambla de Albox, a short walk from the town centre. The easiest access for visitors arriving from the A-334 or the E-15 (Autovía del Mediterráneo) is via the Albox Sur exit, following the fairground signs.

Public parking areas are available near Avenida Lepanto and Avenida América, with temporary overflow parking provided along Rambla de los Marinos. Visitors are advised to arrive early in the afternoon to avoid congestion during concert hours.

Those travelling by bus from Vera, Huércal-Overa or Almería city can use the Alsa regional lines, which stop at the Albox Bus Station—about a 10-minute walk from the fairground.

The main procession took place in the afternoon, following a reduced route through the town centre before ending earlier than planned as rainfall intensified. Local brass bands accompanied the parade, maintaining a festive atmosphere even as conditions worsened.

Earlier in the day, the Kings had already visited several local institutions, including the hospital and care centres, where residents and patients were able to greet them in a quieter and more personal setting.

Weather conditions finally turned in favour of Cuevas del Almanzora on Three Kings’ Day, allowing the traditional parade to go ahead across a wide part of the municipality. With rain staying away, the Kings were able to follow their planned route, reaching both inland villages and the coast.

The day began in the morning in smaller population centres, with visits across the Almanzora area before moving through a series of villages spread across the municipality. As the hours passed, the route gradually shifted towards the coastal towns.

The celebrations concluded later in the afternoon in Villaricos and Palomares, where larger receptions were held for families and children. Despite earlier concerns about the weather, turnout remained steady throughout the day, underlining the importance of Three Kings’ Day in Cuevas del Almanzora.
