TL;DR Garrucha has presented its FITUR 2026 promotional video directly from the municipality after cancelling its planned Madrid presentation due to official mourning following the Adamuz train tragedy.

Garrucha presents FITUR 2026 promotional video locally after Madrid event is cancelled

The Garrucha Town Council has presented its new promotional video for FITUR 2026 directly from the municipality after suspending its planned institutional event in Madrid.

The cancellation followed the declaration of official mourning after the tragic train accident in Adamuz. As a result, institutional presentations at FITUR were suspended by both the Junta de Andalucía and the Diputación de Almeria as a sign of respect.

Local presentation replaces FITUR event

Despite the cancellation of the Madrid presentation, the Garrucha Town Council decided to proceed with the launch of the promotional material from the town itself. The video was released via social media at the same time the FITUR event had originally been scheduled.

According to the council, the decision reflects a balance between respect for the circumstances and the commitment to continue promoting the municipality to residents and visitors.

Focus on identity, sea and gastronomy

The promotional video highlights Garrucha’s identity, its connection to the sea and its gastronomy, as well as daily life in the town throughout the year. The piece was designed as the central element of the municipality’s tourism promotion strategy for the upcoming FITUR edition.

In a statement, the Town Council said the video aims to show “who we are” as a municipality, emphasising responsibility, respect and commitment while continuing to share Garrucha’s attractions.

The video is now available through the official social media channels of the Garrucha Town Council.
