Mojácar Recognised as Official ‘Municipio Turístico’

The coastal town of Mojácar has officially been granted the designation of “Municipio Turístico” (Tourist Municipality) by the Junta de Andalucía. The announcement marks a new chapter for one of Almería’s most iconic destinations, known for its whitewashed old town, vibrant events, and award-winning beaches.

With this status, Mojácar will now benefit from a share of a regional subsidy package worth €4.4 million. The funding will be used to improve tourist infrastructure, signage, digital information systems, and accessibility for visitors.
