Showcasing Almeria in San Sebastian

The Diputacion Provincial continues its commitment to elevating the profile of Sabores Almeria, the province’s gourmet brand, through active participation in key gastronomic forums across Spain and Europe. This October, Sabores Almeria begins with a prominent presence at San Sebastian Gastronomika, a respected gathering in the world of haute cuisine. The brand will have its own stand at the Kursaal convention centre, featuring the involvement of seven chefs and eight local companies showcasing the quality and distinctive flavours of Almerian produce.

Support at Madrid’s Fruit Attraction

Shortly after San Sebastian, Sabores Almeria will participate in Fruit Attraction in Madrid, the world’s leading fair for the agricultural sector. The Diputacion’s delegation will support local businesses and farmers who maintain Almeria’s international leadership in agricultural production, which remains the backbone of the province’s economy. This institutional backing highlights the strong link between Sabores Almeria and the vital agricultural community.

International Exposure in Paris and Beyond

Following the Spanish events, the brand is set to feature at SIAL Paris, one of the largest and most influential food and drink exhibitions worldwide, held from October 17 to 21. Sabores Almeria will present itself with a dedicated stand and nine participating companies, aiming to further showcase the premium quality of the region’s offerings to a global audience.

The month will conclude with important events closer to home and further afield. The Sur Wines & Gourmet fair in Malaga, focused on wines and complementary products, will include seven companies from Sabores Almeria, strengthening regional ties with the professional restaurant sector in Andalusia and along the Costa del Sol.

New Market Opportunities in Copenhagen

A new international commercial mission will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, where three Sabores Almeria companies will present their products directly to Danish importers, distributors, and market professionals. Thanks to collaboration between Diputacion and ICEX, this initiative aims to open new distribution channels in Denmark, whose consumers are known to value quality, sustainability, and the unique identity found in Sabores Almeria products.

Growing Export Success

Carlos Sanchez, Diputacion’s delegate for Presidency and Promotion, emphasises the importance of expanding international markets for the brand’s growth. He notes that Sabores Almeria is likely experiencing the best period in its history but stresses the need to maintain momentum through participation in major national and global forums. The number of brands currently exporting has doubled, with more than 50 companies now reaching overseas markets.

Sanchez highlights the strategic partnerships already in place with organisations such as the Chamber of Commerce, ICEX, Trade, and Fiab, which provide vital support for Almerian businesses as they navigate new markets. This comprehensive backing reinforces Sabores Almeria’s role in helping local producers present their gourmet products to wider, discerning audiences worldwide.
